To Jinja and the River Nile!

When I found out that the Nile runs through Uganda I was quite shocked. I thought perhaps it was a different River Nile or a typo. But we would not have driven for three hours to see anything less than the original, features in the 10 plagues, Egypt's famous for it River Nile, complete with 10 foot crocodiles. Oh yes we did see them. It. There was only one. And we were in the car driving over a bridge at the time. But if you just say 'boat ride on the Nile' and 'crocodiles', people make the link themselves and technically that's not lying.

Yes, so we went to Bujugali Falls where people raft on the rapids, other people, and then took a gentle boat ride along a calmer, more serene part of the river. I didn't see any pyramids or babies drifting in pitch covered baskets, but it was still a genuine River Nile experience and we loved it.

(I bet Pharaoh didn't have to wear a lifejacket)

Now the locals were vigorously defending some idea about the source of the Nile being in Uganda. Apparently some British plonker discovered it a long time ago. But in our heart of hearts we all know that the source is in fact in Rwanda in Nyungwe Forest. After all, if it wasn't the real source, they couldn't charge you $200 to go and see it, could they?
